Here they can get great pizza. beautiful surprise. it is also open on ta, says it closed. it is good to come and try!
We stay in povoacao (would recommend) and, after an early start and a long journey, tied a bit fast and easy for dinner. this pizzeria is small and simple, but fresh and clean, with a beautiful welcome. When we wanted to see the menu, we were told that they just made pizza. the pizza menu consists of three wood slices, which designate the three different sizes of the pizza, with the toppings available in Portuguese and English on one of the plates. pizzas cost: small 5€, medium 8€, large 10€. there are no extra fees, they can choose as many toppings as they want. our pizzas were delicious, basic somewhere in the middle between thin and crispy and deep dish, piping hot and really fill. on large cardboard plates, cutlery optional. it was very quiet on a Thursday night. there are two parts to the caffe and only the room with the bar was open. beautiful living blue flowing on the walls and mock marble tables and chairs. a big TV at the wall. we had a small pizza, a medium pizza, two beers and a sprit and the bill came to 15.60€ we were much too full to taste each of the delicious looking baked on the counter. great value for a simple dinner, friendly greeting (English speaking if you need it) and good environment.
If you're heading to the town Povoação where the island was first discovered..then if you feel like ahving a nive familiar big pizza...go to Guida's where you get to taste the local feresh bakery!
When you enter at the bar you don't really know where you are. Some locals drinking bear and watching football matches and no signs of pizza! But it occurs that they serve very good pizza (3 sizes possible and you choose the ingredients that you...want) that is pretty good and not expensive at all (the biggest one at 10 euros).
