Always a good breakfast spot. Staff as always on point with the service and always happy to accomodate to special requests. (well atleast they look like they are :) Love it, although the fruit salad could be a little more seasonal and have a few more desirable fruits in there,
We were hungry for a hearty breakfast and we not disappointed at Magpie's. We received friendly, efficient service and tasty food in a casual, atmosphere. Not much to look at out the window but, inside there was an eclectic mix of art and antiques/collectibles to see.
We go to Magpie regularely it's close and reasonably priced . The decor or lack there of is often helped by local artists of great talent .. thrift store furniture whimsical and colorful . The food is diner style and the staff is friendly enough no uniforms but most show all their forms .Very relax so don't bother dressing up nobody would notice . It's a come as you are type place the kind that rallies everybody . Def worth a try , you just might get addicted to the place .
Not sure how a place can operate so completely understaffed.....Though two professional (happy) servers could easily have handled the room - wasn't full. Got our own menu's.........About to go and get our own coffee after a long wait, but our server finally did show with 4 mugs for the 5 of us there.........Food was just ok and took a VERY long time to arrive. Families with loud loud children filled the place, and as it is a high ceiling with no separation, it was not a pleasant breakfast experience and went on far too long.
