Watson's Ale House - Powys

During our challenging Offa's Dyke hike, my group of three stopped at Carter's place for the night and had a pleasant rest in a comfortable room after enjoying a couple of pints in the pub downstairs. Carter was very hospitable, allowing us to use his kitchen for dinner and even arranging breakfast for us at a nearby café. If I ever returned to Knighton, I would definitely stay at Carter's place again. Thank you, Carter, for your hospitality - you were the reason I didn't give up on my walk the next day and head home!

The bar was fantastic, just as the reviews claimed it to be - the best place in town. They had a great variety of real ales and we followed the recommendation of other patrons by grabbing some fish and chips from next door.

There's a chippy next door that does very tasty fish and chips, and this pub lets you eat your takeaway in their bar or their beer garden if you buy a drink. Really friendly staff, great idea, happy to see the kids. Nice Czech lager on tap too.

This was the first visit for me and my family. I found the atmosphere, service, Ale and ambiance fabulous. A very welcoming unique little gem, a regular stop for us now. The bar staff and Carter will make you feel very welcome and the locals are lovely. What more can you ask? Good prices? Certainly, great value too. What a diamond find. Malcolm Campbell

Comfortable beer focused venue. Relaxed vibe, serving real ale. Pop next door, buy fish and chips and come back and eat them with your beer; luxury!
