(maybe by design or not) after she took my order, for a 16 dollar cheeseburger steak, (where's the cheese) she asked me how i would like it cooked. i knew that was trouble. i asked for it medium well. people today don't know how to cook hamburger steaks. about 20 minutes later, she came out and told me they were frying some fresh hush puppies and she would bring me some when they came out the grease. NOT!!! they NEVER came. the hamburger, gravy, and mac and cheese, came 45 minutes after i ordered them. besides me there were only two tables occupied. when my meal FINALLY came, it was luke warm. nothing was hot. the cheeseburger was so well done that the serrated edged knife would barely cut it. about the cheese; it is easier finding the pork, in pork and beans, than to find the cheese in that piece of meat. the average price for lunch there is between $15.00 $35.00. not even worth the gas to drive there and back home. STAY AWAY!!! when i got there i asked for a go menu to take home. i left it on purpose.
The stakes are the best, the service is excellent. And the owner is the best, makes sure that everyone walks out happy, full, and satisfied. Good place to eat with family and friends or a special occasion. The staff at ca cest bon keep up the good work!!
Good food and (very) generous portions. The atmosphere is a bit Spartan, and the service just a bit slow (but not bad). Since we're all here for the food, let's focus on that. Just about everything on the menu is big enough to share with someone else. If you can eat the whole Eggplant Pontoon, you might need to reconsider your life choices (or maybe you have a Michael Phelps workout routine and you actually need 10,000 calories). Seriously the portions are huge. Plenty of food. The chargrilled oysters are all good all five varieties. We had the sampler with chargrilled, Clem's style (pimentos, feta, and bacon), Kicking style (bacon and jalapeños), and Rockefeller (spinach and cream cheese). All of them are good, all of them worth having again. The shrimp and grits were the only lackluster thing we had very good flavor (good, creamy grits with bacon flavor), but very few shrimp. This dish would be ten times better with a few, large blackened or grilled shrimp on top of the grits instead of a few small ones mixed (buried) in. The side of onion rings, on the other hand, were top notch golden, crispy, and sweet. The Eggplant Pirogue is also top notch. The etoufee is excellent thick, dark, rich and full of crawfish, all on top of and inside a deep fried eggplant. A very good dish (and also too much to eat there will be leftovers). The side of loaded potato salad (also a candidate for leftovers) is very good full of cheese and bacon. Overall a good experience. The food is good and plentiful. You won't leave hungry.
May have taken a bit to get the food but it was great. I order the bacon wrapped shrimp, fries, and Mac and cheese. The bacon wrapped shrimp were big and juicy and it tasted amazing. The fries were good too but wasn't reality a fan of the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese needs a little work but overall the food was delicious and all the workers were fantastic. I know it's busy but they try their best. Will come back again eventually
Good food. I have been twice. The owner was very nice and his staff as well. My group enjoyed the food and time we spent there. Great work!
