Authentic food. Great selection. Could use work on answer phones when ordering ahead
The atmosphere is very laid-back and Latino-inspired. They have fresh meats available at the butcher counter, along with a wide variety of ready-to-eat Latino dishes. There are casual tables and chairs for dining in. Although I didn't order any food, I didn’t give it a rating, but it smelled delightful.
I ordered shredded beef tacos and, after making the drive home excited for a delicious meal, I was incredibly disappointed to find that they were actually street tacos—and not good ones, at that. The filling tasted more like a mix of tomato paste, meat, and onions rather than anything resembling a taco. If I had known we were getting street tacos priced at over $8, I wouldn't have made the trip at all. It was a waste of gas and money, and now I still need to figure out what to have for dinner. The flavors of the tacos, rice, and beans were far from authentic Mexican; it felt more like something a chef who had lost their way would produce. I recommend avoiding this place to spare yourself the disappointment. I sure wish I had!
My husband is a big fan of their menudo, while I really enjoy their tacos. Plus, the market is fantastic, offering a wide range of products. The staff is always very friendly, too.
