The restaurant offers a great selection of vegan options that are clearly labeled. The deli teller and avocado toast are standout dishes. They also have a nice variety of cakes and beverages. Plus, it's dog-friendly!
What a lovely and relaxing spot for brunch! The warm and friendly welcome sets the tone, and the good music creates a wonderful vibe. There are plenty of beautiful vegan options to choose from, including a delightful oat latte and a variety of vegan desserts. I can't wait to return; this is definitely one of my favorite places to eat!
I tried the vegan deli platter/box, the jambalaya, mango salsa, kale sweetcorn with avocado dressing, sweet potato wedges and the possibility of a protein for an extra £ 1, either falafel or halloumi. the mango salsa and jambalaya were particularly delicious. I believe that the deli thema changes every week, so it often makes various possibilities to try. the atmosphere is really nice, although on a super hot day it was very warm in it with the only ventilation the open doors. the tables are well spaced and all have slightly different chairs and arrangements. there were many vegan options for smoothies, juices and hot drinks. there were also many vegetarian options and some meat when they go there in a party of mixed nutritional options. I will definitely visit again. it was a scandal that only 2 of the 10 pies were vegan who had sold vegan brownies that left the blueberry chocolate lobe for me to try what was really delicious. they used a lot of disposable packaging and plastic cups, although we eat in which was disappointing.
Planks Kitchen is the onsite cafe at South Planks Farm, suppliers of wood, stone, tiles and reclaimed items, offering wholesome, nutritious breakfast and lunch dishes, with their mantra being 'Eat Well Live Well '. I had Planks Kitchen on my to visit list, after seeing a post on Vegan Lancashire Facebook group. There are vegan options on the menu too, with plenty of choice for breakfast or lunch and on speaking to the waitress, the soup of the day is normally vegan too. I was immediately drawn to the Planks plant based platter and hubby opted for a houmous bagel served with roast vegetables and rocket. The dishes were colourful, fresh and delicious, they were good sized portions and great value for money. Unfortunately the only vegan cake available, a blueberry loaf had sold out, which was a disappointment, but on the other hand shows how popular vegan cake is. I was impressed with the vegan friendly Faith in Nature hand wash in the toilets, so although I always carry my own, in this instance I did not need it. I think Planks Kitchen is a fabulous place, cater well for vegans, with lovely friendly staff, so I will definitely revisit as I rather fancy one of their vegan breakfast options. Highly recommended.
