Always crowded. The service was not so good, we had been waiting for 30 mins before we were told that the food we ordered was sold out. Fortunately the Nasi Campur Empal is delicious.
The recommended menu is Rawon, but Nasi Campur Empal is quite good too. They have a very small place and can be packed during lunch time and on public holidays.
This restaurant is well-known for its Klepon, the Javanese Snack made from glutinous rice flour, brown sugar filling and coated with grated coconut. The klepon texture is gooey, sweet and addictive. One box is contain with 25 pieces klepon, which is enough for sharing. The restaurant always packed with people who want to buy klepon. I suggest to call and order first and then pick it up when it’s ready.
Even when it is still closed they still serve us because we are STARVING!. And it is a great place to take a break while driving
