I had the hibachi steak and vegetables...the steak was nearly raw and unseasoned. The meat was swimming in a corn starch sort of sauce, but was tasteless. The miso soup was OK, but was served long after the entree. It was a very disappointing meal all together. Service: Dine in
I have been coming here for years, so I've seen this restaurant go through its highs and lows, and I've been happily following along. Fast forward to about a week ago: I am vegan by dietary restriction. I wanted a soup that accommodated my veganism. I asked the waiter if the vegetable soup was made with chicken broth or vegetable broth; they said it was made with vegetable broth, but they'd double-check with the kitchen. I guessed they double-checked already, because out comes my soup with no further comments. I ate the soup; it tasted funny, but I chalked it up to either the vegetables not being fresh, or the broth not being fresh, or something to that effect. About 20 minutes after I was done eating, my stomach was in absolute chaos. I downed two doses of Pepto with some relief but not complete. I threw up the rest. I have issues trusting this place now. I understand that this is a local business in Hopewell, that I visited when they had a dinner rush and, like I've said earlier, I've seen its highs and lows. I'm not trying to be harsh, but someone somewhere dropped the ball in this instance and the outcome really made me sick. I don't think I'll be going there again; if I do, I'll try my best to eat nothing at all. Kid-friendliness: This place is very kid- and family- friendly. They have high chairs and a kid's menu. Wheelchair accessibility: This place is on the first floor, and both doors open for wheelchairs.
Third dining experience there. They are horribly understaffed, and the service reflects that. We will not be returning. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes: Miso Soup, Roll, Steak, Steak and Shrimp Hibachi
Went here for a going away lunch. I ordered teriyaki chicken with white rice. The grill cook comes out. Cooks on the grill. The entire time he is facing away from my side of the hibachi. When I got my food, there was more onions then chicken. I was charged $4 for a hibachi charge. My meal was not cooked on the hibachi. I asked why I was charged, waitress act confuses to why would someone question the charge. I'm never going back. Will never recommend it. Good luck with the teriyaki onion.
