I would recommend dia (owner\Koch) and his team to anyone who wants to impress their sushi-sowvy guests. Thank you. fukasaku helps me show the best of rupert.
It is clearly a small restaurant that feels the post pandemic sort. I couldn't book or walk for one there was a very abrupt sign on the door that said not even ask. I bet that sushi is fabulous. I don't know, maybe next time.
Far and away the best sushi experience we've ever had. Chef of cuisine, who breaks the crabs in the kitchen. Sea view. Unique roll and everything incredibly fresh. the staff was so friendly. only reservation and they didn't kick us out. after the ginger cream broth, we looked at additional rolls.
Beautiful restaurant in the harbour with a really beautiful view. best sushis in the city and in Canada. do not forget to make a reservation.
My wife and I dined here while visiting our daughter in September. Since our first visit a few years ago, Fukasaku has moved into its own facility just a few doors down. Is quite intimate, with seating for just a few people, but well spaced...out, and with views of the kitchen. As before, we had the special Omakase platter, which was simply delicious. Perusing the menu provides an almost Portlandia moment, with local sources for most of the types of fish all identified by name. The Ginger Creme Brûlée desert was also excellent. Prince Rupert is fortunate to have such a high quality sushi restaurant in town! The only possible improvement would have been to have the local Wheelhouse IPA available! (To be fair, it was generally in short supply that week). They did however have a good BC Saké to complement the meal.
