I stopped here for a light lunch and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, wraps, and other meals available from breakfast to dinner. We tried the soup and sandwich special (egg/tuna) and they were excellent. The food was freshly prepared and the soup was served hot. This place is a great little stop along the TransCanada at King's Landing. The sign outside said "Acorn Restaurant" so I assume it goes by both names, Mads and Acorn.
I am constantly surprised by the quality of food at this truck stop. We quickly grabbed a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches to go as we were running short on time during our road trip. The price was a bit high at $16 for two simple sandwiches and a cup of coffee.
Had a nice quick breakfast at mads before she went to the city. friendly service. the food was good. hot coffee with frequent refills. a lot of choice for breakfast. impressed with this place.
My wife and I passing through and stopped for gas at this truck stop. We saw the Acorn and stopped in for lunch. Great looking diner with two very attentive staff. We were seated right away and got our orders in. The return time for...the food was literally five minutes. Obviously they have someone in the back that knows what they're doing. It was the fastest homemade food we have ever had. The food was real turkey and mashed potatoes. Bathrooms were spotless. You can hear locals talking in Acadian French at the counter. Glad to be back in Atlantic Canada. Great place to have lunch and stop.
