We were a group of 20 camping at the Princetown reserve and wandered over to the pub to watch the footy Good Friday, the darker hair girl working behind the bar was great, going as fast as she could to keep up with our drinks and other people that came in, I ordered fish and chips and they were actually very good. The meals area was full, one girl behind the bar just drying glasses, people were looking at her wondering why she wasn't serving?? We were Given numbers when we ordered but when our meals came out they just yelled out what it was and some people got others meals, should of stuck to the number system, so families could of eaten at the same time
We arrived around 6.30 pm for dinner. We waited for more than 1.5 hours and when we asked they told us we will have to wait for another 20-30minutes for our meals. It was 8.30pm when we decided we do not want to stay and wait any longer. We demanded our money back and left without having eaten anything. Staff was nice but the long wait was unacceptable. A lot of people who had arrived after us had received their meals long before us although some of them had ordered the same. Do not recommend.
On arrival the place gives the impression that it is more of a cafe than a pub with lodgings.Meals, choice of either pizza or a typical pub menu. We went for the pub menu with lamb shank and a reef and beef. The lamb shank was ok but paid 35 for reef N beef with 2 small prawns and a scallop on top and the order took a while to come out.We booked a room and found it to be a small but clean room with fresh sheets etc, but, there was no light in the bathroom tho 1 heatlamp worked, the TV had no antenna cable and the room had no existing smoke alarms, the walls are paper thin between rooms and there was the constant sound of what appeared to be hot water systems behind the wall. I would concider this place in the event that everywhere else was booked out.
If you just need a meal to satisfy your hunger, then the 12 Apostles Inn is fine. But do not expect to get an extraordinary meal and the servings are not too generous. The atmosphere is nothing special as well.
