Persimmon Providence

Portions were small, but the food was really good. The deviled eggs, corn bread and scallops were incredible. My partner and I shared 7 records and the last one we were overcrowded. So not to scare through the portion sizes!

We live closer to Boston, but decided to dinate in Providence because we are getting better food and service there. Service: Robert C. was friendly, fun and helpful. It was our first time and we didn't know what to order. He helped us through his favorites and popular dishes. He also brought us Steffen, the Sommelier to help us choose Slovenian wines. I can't believe they have Slovenian wine! Food: It is more of a “Tapas” experience. The plates are small. So we ordered 5 records to share among 4 friends, in addition to our own “representation.” Robert was super sweet because he brought us candles with our dessert because we told him we're celebrating our birthdays. We love it, Robert. Thank you for being so detailed. I wasn't crazy about Dessert, I gotta confess. We had the Chocolate Tart and the Lime Cheesecake. I'm usually not crazy about Tarts in general and not a fan of lime desserts, but our friends wanted to try them. The lime cheese cake was a success. Location: It is on Hope St. It was easy to find parking. Environment: We sat near the kitchen in a super nice closed area. I recommend it. Recommendation: The online order menu is easy to read as the in-person text-heavy-no-spacing-printed menu. I recommend redesigning it to make a short name for the court with the explanation next to it like the online menu format and add distance between elements.

We made the tasting menu and the wine pairing, both were amazing. The cook came with the menu on the fly, just because we asked for it, and every dish was better than the previous one. Tableware is small but tasteful!

The tasting menu and wine pairing was absolutely out of this world. The casual atmosphere with top notch attention to service really set them apart. The quality of every dish far surpassed our expectations!

Such a fun restaurant. the plates are small but incredibly creative and so delicious. All of the meat was prepared to perfection. Cocktails were so tasty. Plus the gluten free homemade pasta was such a great surprise for someone with celiac disease! Can't wait to go back.
