It 's a pop up folk music venue that 's currently in a wee church auditorium in Pawtucket, but has changed venues over its 30 years of existence. Stone Soup was named for the folk tale in which a traveler wanders into a town, and when he 's denied food he starts stirring a pot of stone soup consisting of a stone and water. The townspeople are curious and he tells them one at a time that he just needs a bit of garnish, a carrot, etc. until the community coming together makes a legit delicious soup. Perfect name for an organization that 's entirely volunteer operated all for the music down to the subsidized Coffee Exchange coffee. Put somethin ' in the pot and catch some great acoustic tunes.
This is the seventh or eighth time at a Stone Soup show. This is our first time at this venue. The place is wonderful. As a couple that enjoys folk music we look forward to more shows again.
Wonderful musicians attendees!!
