Viva Mexico Cantina Grill - Providence

Viva Mexico Cantina Grill was terrific! Very busy with diners coming before and after the Nate Bargatze show at the AMP. The hostess was terrific, never lost her cool and got everyone seated in a snap. Waiter also was all smiles and helpful. I love it when a waiter gets really excited about what I order! Food was pretty terrific! Very casual ambience, lots of diverse groups. Lots of energy, kinda loud but in a fun way!

Viva Mexico is an updated version of Mexican food with a great downtown location and atmosphere. The bar has a variety of margarita options and the food selection is simple yet elegantly presented. The burrito and chimichanga were very tasty and nicely portioned. We tried all three desserts: churros, flan and fried ice cream and were impressed with them all. This is a must visit if you are in Providence and love Mexican food.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in this area, and I’ve tried a lot. We ordered 2 things to try before seeing a PPAC show. “Enchiladas mole,” and “tortilla chips, mild medium salsa and refried beans” ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Great service, reasonable prices this will be my new go to!

Great atmosphere and delicious food at this restaurant. I found the margaritas to be a bit weak for my taste, even after ordering a double. A major plus was when I mentioned in my reservation that it was my wife's birthday, and they remembered and sang happy birthday to her. Definitely a must-visit Mexican spot in Providence, RI.

Delicious and aesthetically pleasing margaritas. Jose was very accommodating and patient with us all night.
