Sal's Place - PROVINCETOWN

This restaurant is incredible. The way they prepare tuna is truly exceptional. The cooking is outstanding, and the hospitality is top-notch.

We sat outside on the water just past dark and had a fabulous time. We ran into- Local celebrities, politicians and friends from all over. The food was top notch and the complimentary fudge was the icing on the cake of a perfect meal.

Sal’s is an adventure. Just go with an easy, go with the flow attitude and you will be fine. You will always wait for your table, you will always be tightly seated, and you will always wonder who your server is. That being said, it’s the charm, The ambiance is so special and the food is overall quite good as well. They have an easy pricing stratagem $20 apps $40 pastas and entrees , and their beverages are the same $20 for cocktails and glass or red, white, or rosè . We did the cacio et Pepe arancini, lobster a la vodka, and the chicken parm. All were quite good, though I wish the lobster was a different shape of pasta and the arancini were larger. My biggest issue was the booze. The cocktails are all pre-made and not very strong for $20, and the wine is all their wine and not great. $20 is a lot for a not great glass of wine. Overall I continue to go back because it IS and experience and overall that experience is positive: George is wonderful.

PSA: NO FRILLS- This is an incredibly special place. It’s so unique in the small-beach-town way that it operates. The rustic atmosphere sitting on the deck is unlike any other you’ll find in PTown. The host is not going to treat you like royalty, because they are a no-bulls t establishment. We loved the casual, yet romantic, feel of dining here. Cash Only. The cocktails were $20 a piece or you could buy a bottle of wine for $60. The price point for entrees was much higher than you’d expect for the quality of food but, again, it’s a small business that delivers an experience beyond just dining out. We were absolutely charmed by our server staff that did not allow the water in our glasses go below the rim for one moment throughout our meal.

Amazing experience at Sal’s this evening. Fantastic ambiance, amazing customer service and friendly staff, delicious meal and drinks. They made this solo traveler feel right at home
