I'm conflicted about whether to give this place four or five stars. The bacon is a nice thickness—not like the kind you’d get at Denny's. It has a great diner atmosphere and serves breakfast all day, similar to Callie's. The service is fast, making it a great spot to enjoy breakfast with a friend. It definitely surpasses Village Inn and Denny's in every way. Skip IHOP and come here instead. You can get a solid breakfast for around $10 right now—check out my picture!
The food at this diner is quite decent. It's my go-to spot when I'm in the mood for that classic diner atmosphere, but I can't deny that it isn't the cleanest place. I mean, it feels a little dirty when you sit down. My partner ordered the chicken strips, and for the price, they were good. I had the chicken avocado club, which was also tasty. I think I’ll try something different next time we visit. The service was just okay; I guess it was a bit hectic since it was Easter Sunday. The coffee was pretty decent too.
Our meals arrived one by one, with several minutes between each dish, which was frustrating. I ordered the California Eggs Benedict, and it was the last to arrive—and unfortunately, it was poorly prepared. The bacon was burnt and tough, making it inedible (the same went for my son's kids meal, which he refused to eat). The eggs were cooked well, but for this dish, they should have been runny. Additionally, a lot of the hash was burnt. My husband tried the grizz and thought it was just okay. He liked his eggs, and we shared our dishes, but in hindsight, that might have been a mistake because now we’re unsure which meal made us feel unwell. It appears the restaurant is under new management, as the overall operation felt disorganized, with staff running around looking confused. Unfortunately, our experience here was quite disappointing. We would appreciate a response from management to help resolve these issues. Thank you.
I went in on a Wednesday evening, and there weren't a lot of people. I got the Bear's Choice with sweet cream waffle, eggs, and sausage. I don't know if it's because I ordered takeout, so the food was not fresh and toasty anymore, but everything tasted only average. The waffle got a paw print on it, which was really cute, but I didn't love the texture and would probably try their pancakes or toasts next time. Also a bit sad that they didn't provide any ketchup for the eggs. Lots of people say the portions here are huge, but this entree I got also cost $10.99 so I think the portion was only reasonable considering the price. I didn't have that great of an experience this time, but I have heard good things from others, so I might still give it a chance later.
