Difficult to spot from the street for first time visitors, but we 'll worth the visit. I 've been struggling with gastrointestinal issues and narrowed the problem to wheat/gluten based products. I 've been off wheat for a year and had a friend recommended Time Travelors Bakery for the sourdough bread. She mentioned the owners also had issues with commercially available bread products and that the fresh bread made and sold at Time Travelors was different.I visited today and tried the 3 bread samples of Sourdough, Honey Wheat, and Dark Bread. The bread is made with a nonGMO 5000 year old wheat seed and double fermentation yeast process to reduce gluten and substantially aid digestion.I bought a loaf of Dark Wheat, a chocolate chip cookie, and a hand sized apple pie. The cookie was consumed on the drive home and we found the cookie delisciuos. Time Travelors uses yeast in place of baking soda in the cookie. Great texture. The Dark Bread is denser than typical commercial breads and once I got it home I toasted 2 slices and put coconut oil and strawberry freezer jam on top. The toasting took longer, and the crust was also hotter longer when I buttered it than I 'm used to, but the taste was outstanding.Thank you Time Travelers Bakery for making a great product. Also note they sell low temp pasteurized milk and chocolate milk, honey and honey soaps as well.
Have you ever eaten something and it takes you back to that moment when your grandmother spent the entire day with you, baking, sharing stories, making memories, bonding through creating nourishing and healthy baked foods together?Well, this bread did that for me. I have had to eat gluten free for almost 10 years now due to having Hashimoto's, and while I have learned to adapt and make the best of what I can have, I have truly missed healthy, homemade, REAL bread.Because I read some people with Hashimoto's have found success in eating this bread and not having a negative reaction, I decided to give it a try. I tried the classic sourdough, the dark bread, and the honey wheat. They are all wonderful! I especially enjoy them toasted with butter and homemade strawberry jam.I personally had no adverse reaction, and plan to take the online baking class in the future to learn how to make/bake this recipe and teach my children, (and one day grandchildren) and make memories with them!Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your wonderful recipes and bread baking magical powers! I'm beyond excited to have access to healthy, REAL bread in my life again!!
Introduced to this restaurant because a friend gave us a brown loaf for Christmas. It was delicious and we've already gone back for a second loaf .
I do like their bread but I’ve asked twice for the nutrition facts and they don’t seem to have them. Also, since they changed the shape of the loaf, you are paying the same price, which seems a little high, but the loaf seems definitely smaller. Since we live 20 miles away we will not be frequenting them in the future as we have been.
