Le Café - Puducherry

Must visit place when in Pondicherry. The best thing about this place is they have 24/7 service but the upper deck closes at 10pm. Though the upper sitting area has a better view but the lower area is equally breezy and calm. The prices are reasonable and the food quality and quantity both are really good. They have self service dining but it doesn't matter since the service is quick. Among the 3 days I was in pondi, I went there almost everyday once for coffee or lasagna and sea food.

Le Café is the only sea facing café in Pondicherry, we were on the way to Chennai from Velankkani, thought would stop by for breakfast, as we have heard a lot about the café. We reached there by around 9.30 am, as per history its supposed to be a old port office during the French period when the railways, used to operate between north and south boulevard. Theirs is pier in front of the Café, after some research found that it was old pier and was destroyed by strong cyclone in 1952, one can see the remains till date from the Le Café.

Me and parents had visited the cafe on a weekday. hence, the place wasn't crowded. The location is excellent, right at the promenade. We took a table on the terrace. The view along with the sound of the waves was mesmerizing. The price is ok.. Neither too cheap nor very expensive.
