It isn't the high season right now in Puerto Viejo, but the place was packed while we visited. The staff who served the food was really friendly. The place is located near the city center and right next to the beach.
Good place just next to the bus stop. Fresh and tasty pastroes and good choice of breakfast. Kind and attentive staff. Huge portions. We had there breakfast twice and it was delicious every time. Also this is a breakfast place for hotel Mauritza. Keep in mind: you need to say if you don't like coffe with sugar (it is automatically added)! Only 4 because the toilet wasn't working.
Excellent bread! Breakfast #5 (eggs, lettuce, tomato, avocado, slices of baguette) was served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar cruets quite tasty. Coffee is excellent. Service: one server was nice, the other rolled her eyes and acted impatient. Pay at the counter, where you may not be able resist taking home a warm roll or baguette!
Pretty disappointed. The rice and beans was crunchy felt like yesterday’s. Service was slow and she got the wrong order (language barrier... understandable). Food was bland. We didn’t try the pastry but after the egg breakfast we didn’t want to risk it. The place was recommended by a local so we thought it would be great... maybe it was just our experience.
Fantastic hotel for breakfast and pastries. especially recommend the fruit salad, which is cold, fresh and large. coffee and espresso drinks also excellent.
