Doña Triny's - PUERTO MORELOS

New location on Javier Rojo Gómez (north of main square) since mid 2023. Unprepossessing store front, but good honest home cooking inside. Very friendly. No beer sold when we went, but home-made cold limonada or chai available, as well as sodas.

According to the waiter, Estefano, this is a new location for their business (a block or two from the pier). Estefano is a member of the family and a super good guy who spoke excellent English. I asked for a recommendation and he shocked me by suggesting I try the cactus pad (nopal) stuffed with mutton and cheese. It was great, really surprising. No way I would have tried it on my own, and as a bonus, I got to hear about the inspiring history of their decades old family business. Beautiful food, beautiful family, authentic and traditional.

The change of location has not affected the quality of the food or service. I had the Pollo con Mole and it was amazing. Definitely very authentic flavors. Will definitely be back again this trip

Moved to New location but it's really cool, very personable and friendly staff with great food. I couldn't recommend these folks more.
