I ordered a small and my man ordered chimicanga. both were apparently still in deep frittier. we had to cut them with a steak knife (to see through the chest) and cut them once. they exploded with the crust in pieces on the whole plate. very dry and no taste on both. I also didn't get any tears and drilling with my little ones and had to ask for the menu if they should come with it. Once I pointed out, they brought me my tear and drilling. they also had no chardonnay (or white) wein, so I had to order a red wine. I noticed that they have no recent reviews, maybe the boss or owner has changed because this had many older positive reviews?
Friendly people, good price and delicious food. they have a great buffet with various Mexican foods and good eggs. I made my breakfast there every time I visited penasco.
We ate here last week while we were in rocky point for the weekend. this restaurant belongs to the family and it has authentic Mexican cuisine. the place is large and can accommodate a large family or group. they have an breakfast buffet that is very affordable and. a fantastic art and wise to taste a lot of Mexican cuisine. the restaurant is clean, has central air conditioning and friendly staff.
The service was terrific. The food was mediocre. Many locals suggested that we try the restaurant. Actually there were more Mexicanos than Touristas. We had just missed the buffet so our meal was a la menu. The chicken breast seemed a little synthetic and we...have had much better (La Cuerva, Caffee Haus. Meal with tip was approx $10 US each.
I was told by a friend that they liked this place, so we decided to try it. It was the worst food we had in the 6 weeks we were in Puerto Penasco. I ordered flautas and my husband ordered chimicanga. Both were apparently left...in the deep fryer for a very long time. We had to cut them with a steak knife (to saw through the crust), and once cut...they exploded with the crust breaking into pieces all over the plate. VERY dry and no flavor on either dish. I also didn't receive any rice and beans with my flautas and had to ask for the menu to verify that they were supposed to come with that. Once I pointed it out, they brought me my rice and beans. They also didn't have any Chardonnay (or white) wine, so I had to order a red wine. I noticed they don't have any recent reviews maybe the chef or owner has changed since this had much older positive reviews? As stated, it was a VERY disappointing lunch!
