After working out at the gym, my friends and I went for a quick lunch and saw the sign for Animo Burritos Y Hamburguesas and decided to check it out. Wow! All the food is fresh, made to order and even the ketchup is homemade....the habenero sauce was awesome. Between the three of us, we had a regular (natural) burger, the queso burger (yummo) and a burrito. ALL was OUTSTANDING. The queso burger was stuffed with gooey spicy cheese and loaded up with tomato, lettuce, onion....delicious. I have never had such a wonderful flavorful burger...EVER. Yolanda, the owner, was absolutely adorable and knows how to make incredible food. And by the way, if she has a moment, she may tell you her very interesting story as to how she came to own the restaurant....and more. If you are in Puerto Vallarta and you want GREAT FOOD, this is the place, a true hidden gem. Do not be detered by the simple exterior or tiny interior. It 's all about the food! This is a must!
There are a lot of places to get a hamburger in Vallarta. And I 've paid as little as 30 pesos and as much as 120 pesos for one. ANIMO has a superb burger. All Angus beef, with some delicious homemade condiments (their habañero sauce is absolutely wonderful) and french fries that were prefectly done (crispy on the outside, perfect on the inside and not greasy). This is a great value for what you get. It 's a small little place on Pino Suárez off Parque Lázaro Cárdenas and right across the street from where the new The Park condos will be going up. It 's in the same spot that was called Victor 's about a year ago. Haven 't had any of the burritos yet, but if they are half as good as the burger was, they 've got a winner. Don 't overlook this place if you 're craving a good hamburger.
Went to this little restaurant with the bright yellow door and decided to give it a try. My daughter had a burrito with pork and red chile. Remarkable!!! I ordered the sticky hamburger which was stuffed with teo different cheeses. I've tried hamburgers in many reastaurants including steak housed, and I can honestly say it was the best burger I've ever had. We went back two more times and i tried the stuffed with blue cheese. Each time they were delicious. If you're staying near the restaurant, they will deliver. The cook is a chef! By the way, I never finsihed the hamburger because they were pretty big.
