All house produced, generous and served with a smile. The terrace was in vain full on a... Swedish lunchtime, but the service was not slow. I wish we had come closer!
Although a reasonable walk from the canal where we had dug our boat, it was worth it. The Entrees were excellent being foie gras for one of us, a grilled yarn dish divided by two of our party, with the remaining one decision...out given a entrecôte steak was his choice for the main. So, for the net, it was 3 Tournedos and 1 Entrecôte Steak cooked with all to perfection with good, even a small salad, and vegetables on the plate. A bottle of Viognier and a Minervios wine added to this occasion. Ice for 2 of us and Calvados for the other 2 as dessert rounded things beautiful. The lady who served us was the sister of the cook / owner and was very helpful and friendly. Not cheap, but not expensive. Overall, given food and service, it is the merit of the rankings.
A short stroll from the Canal du Midi along a picturesque country road fringed with vineyards. We could choose to sit outdoors in a spacious courtyard or inside the invitint fresh white restaurant, light, cheerful, comfortable, modern. Such a contrast to the very old village...where it is situated. Service was smiling and helpful, the menu of the day great value offering two choice of three courses. We each ordered alternate dishes and shared each course. A great way to savour regional dishes. We were not disappointed. Each dish was superb. Our waitress helped us to choose a local wine to match the food. Perfect too. We left with a small take home pack of tarte tartin which was delicious but such a generous slice that we could enjoy it the next day. Some extra wine too. It was a memorable evening. LOvely outdoor area ayrds.
We had a meal at Chez Modeste at the end of July 2019, there were 18 of us in the party and we had the most wonderful time. The food was excellent and the service very attentive. Would definitely recommend this fabulous restuarant for the...food and ambiance.
Six of us had the evening menu du jour and it was superb. The butcher fishmonger chef serves a very special menu of which he is deservedly proud. Each of us loved our choice. Great value at 18 euros for 3 courses and the...wine was cheap too. Lovely atmosphere whether you eat in or out.
