The restaurant is a cool, modern design that has many sophisticated details and surfaces. We sat in a stand that had a good view of the whole room and was comfortable. Our server, Enrique, was amazingly super personable, professional and attentive. The Makanda cocktail was very good a little sweet and a little tart what was delicious! They also started us with a toast with a spread that was good. We loved the Makanda Signature tuna bowl and talked about it a few days after enjoyment! It was a beautiful artistic dish and the taste and texture combos were perfect. We also tried the seafood pasta and fish fillet with green risotto and both were delicious. It was a great experience and we will be back! Update: Cam back! Test the fish and green risotto and salmon teriyaki this time and both were good!
We were nearby and decided to do a Christmas dinner in Arbol after it was found very close to us. From the first place to the end of the meal, this was by far the best culinary experience we had in Manuel Antonio and Costa Rica. Our waiter Alex has explained the menu and met our needs. Not even do we have the feeling that we were uncared and Alex also treated us with two desserts and also on the house. Both the presentation and the taste of the food were excellent, along with the magnificent view and the ambience of the restaurant. We are very pleased that we have decided to dinate with Arbol and fortunately go back to the future.
Wow-what an experience we sat here to celebrate our last night in Costa Rica. A bit of a warning to anyone who tries to find the restaurant and has gone lost as my group did: put your instructions to Hotel Makanda instead of the restaurant. When we finally arrived at the hotel, we parked and got a nice little ride to the restaurant over the golf car, where we descend on the beautiful way to the restaurant. Our waiter Alex spoke to our group in English and Spanish and really took care of our 3-hour dinner. People do not like to eat so long, but it was a relaxing experience and it is place where you need to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere that the restaurant offers. They had all the time live music that was added to the experience. They are menu had a variety of options and included vegan/vegetarian menu. I ordered the fried vegan cheese on a bed of green, potatoes and quinoa. I wouldn't have thought to experience all the flavors together, but I guess I was surprised.
We went to the restaurant for dinner because we stayed at this hotel (Macanda by the sea). Not the best experience and can not recommend. I had garden salad (not especially not much taste) and Philadelphia role that had nothing near the common recipe. Rolls were left in a strange house and you could taste nothing but this sauce. My husband had Gnocchi that he was fine, but for 40 usd the part was not big enough and gnocchi were not even homemade. The next day I tried vegetarian queen. It was very fat and oily
The best service I've ever had. The atmosphere is spectacular and vibe was like no other. The food was pricey but definitely worth it for the experience.
