Scenic views of surrounding hills and vineyards and a variety of seating both indoors and outdoors on the expansive patio with fire pits for cooler weather. The winery is family friendly and dogs are allowed outside on the patio. There are two friendly winery cats in residence who will come up for scritches and attention: We tried the German/Austrian wine tasting and the chocolate wine pairing featuring chocolates by The Conche in Leesburg. I must say, the German wines are outstanding the Gruner Veltliner is juicy and crisp but not too sweet perfect with the strawberry and black pepper white chocolate. Similarly, the Blaufrankisch with its cherry notes and soft tannins paired beautifully with the cherry and pistachio filled chocolate. We also enjoyed the soft pretzel twist that comes with a delicious mustard dip that has a good horseradish kick to it. They also serve pizza and other food which we didn’t try.
Awesome place to hang out... wine and food are quality, and several spaces make it private at times. Live music gave it a great environment to just have a great time. Views are beautiful, staff super caring and kids and dog friendly.
Beau Eyster, Executive Chef knows how to make memorable meals! Friday through Sunday, Otium offers some amazing cuisine. My wife and I have been here many times just to grab a bite to eat... along with a couple glasses of wine of course.
Our experience at Otium Cellars was through the VRBO property, which I highly recommend. The atmosphere here is so relaxing and the property is just lovely. The red flight is a great place to start. I particularly enjoyed the Cuvee, Malbec, and the Cabernet. The staff was very accommodating, building us a roaring fire on a beautiful fall evening. The three meals chef prepared were outstanding and plentiful. I plan to go back for the chicken and waffles, which I didn't get to try this time. This is a unique property.
This review is for both Otium Cellars and their Gruner Bungalow on the property. Both were fantastic! We stayed at the bungalow for a 3 night work meeting. The staff was amazing and accommodating. Exhausted after a long day of strategizing, they set up the fire at the cellars for us (which was a stone's throw away from the house btw) where we unwound and drank delicious wine. The meals prepared by their chef were in great amount and devoured. SO GOOD! My team has had these meetings for many years and all agreed this was the best one, and it had a lot to do with the tranquil environment they created. Thank you!
