The Chicken Patio - Put-in-Bay

The chicken is fantastic—definitely worth trying! The sauce is incredible, and the chicken was cooked to perfection with a wonderful flavor. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere felt just like a picnic. It was a great meal, and I'm really glad I gave it a shot.

I had a fantastic experience at Put In Bay, where I found great value and a speedy meal for just $12 during the busy summer season. This got me a half chicken that was expertly grilled and braised in wine, along with a side of corn on the cob and potato salad. The chicken was flavorful and cooked to perfection, and the corn was just as tasty. The service is straightforward: you grab your food in an assembly line fashion (there's a lot of chicken grilling happening) and pay, then you find a place to sit. I'm not sure about the bathroom situation—I don't think there is one—but I still give this place a solid five stars for the amount and quality of food you get for $12. It's not the spot for a fancy dinner, but if you’re looking to refuel after a day of fun at Put In Bay, The Chicken Patio is a perfect choice.

After 60 years, this joint has a line out to the street by keeping it simple; $11.50 gets you half a wine basted chicken, roll, crisp corn on the cob and fresh potato salad. Not to mention, it's right outside of the Round House Bar, and now has a small patio bar so you can get a drink quickly, even serving 3 Great Lakes Brewing Co. brews on tap. This place serves over 700 dinners on a busy day on the island and is open LATE on the weekends serving up their signature chicken. My cousins and I were gnawing on this grub at midnight and it was still perfect! Make sure you have extra napkins!!

The Chicken Patio offers a straightforward menu featuring barbecued chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, and a roll for dinner. A few years ago, after a long sail from Amherstburg, my dad and I headed straight to this restaurant, and we were treated to some of the most delicious chicken I've ever tasted. My dad enjoyed a refreshing draft beer while I sipped on a lemonade (I was 20 at the time, unfortunately). The food is fantastic, making it a great spot for a quick meal. Don't forget to tip the grillers; it's extremely hot back there, and they work hard to deliver a great experience.

Best chicken you will ever taste, grilled to perfection and hot off of the grill. The chicken (original or barbecued) comes with corn on the cob, a dinner roll, and potato salad. All for about $14. Remember to lick your fingers! Forget wet naps! Wash it down with a cold beer from The Round House!
