The waitstaff are dressed in DC Marvel superhero costumes, and on the stroke of the hour, they all stop what they're doing, put down their trays, and proceed to sing and dance in the restaurant. It's a great experience for special occasions and families with children!
On Easter Sunday, my family and I decided to dine at Pig Out in Solenad, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, which is conveniently located near our home. We were fortunate to secure the last available table. I had initially thought Pig Out was a grill restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised to find that they served Filipino dishes with a twist. For starters, we ordered sisig bites and spicy chicken wings, followed by grilled tuna belly with chilis, crispy kare-kare, pig 3-way sinigang (in Tamarind, Guava, and kamias broth), Dilis and Chicharon fried rice. While we had never tried these dishes before, we found the sisig bites to be a standout. The sinigang was flavorful, with the guava adding a unique touch. The crispy kare-kare was average in taste and portion size, while the grilled tuna belly lacked the expected heat from the chilis. The dilis fried rice was tasty, featuring crispy dilis and fried garlic with fresh green mangoes. The chicharon fried rice, however, was unremarkable. The restaurant provided cucumber and lemon-infused water to cleanse the palate between dishes. Though slightly pricey for the portion sizes, Pig Out caters to families and large groups in a casual setting. The restaurant features two TVs airing sports channels. Despite some hits and misses, I would consider returning to try other dishes and potentially discover some hidden gems.
Food was moderate, although Nacktby liked the Peri-Perio chicken. If the portion size was slightly larger, it would have been better. For a place called Pig Out, you cannot really take off when you buy several dishes. When they worry about eating, they should only increase the price and maintain the name of the company.
I only went to this restaurant once. The meat I ordered was nearly raw. The person making my shake accidentally dropped the melon on the floor, picked it up, and used the same melon for my shake. When I informed the manager about this issue, they didn't seem to think it was a problem. Poor food handling and service discipline, even at the administrative level.
We tried this place because we always see it full-packed. Now I know why… aside from the food being delicious it also offers entertainment every hour! The waiters are in costume (DC & Marvel superheroes) and at the tick of the clock, ALL of them have to put down the trays, then sing & dance in the hallway… great for occasion and children!
