I had the portabella mushroom sandwich on sourdough bread with chipotle Mayo instead of the vegan Mayo. The mushroom was cooked to perfection and the pickled peppers with tomato and avocado gave this sandwich the most delicious taste I have ever had in my life. You have got to taste it! My hubby had the steak and mushrooms with mini red potatoes that are slightly smooshed and then fried with a delicious serving of sour cream. We ended the meal with the apple pie
First time visiting Crockett's. Probably the last time. Typically, I give restaurants a second chance. This experience broke a couple of rules that rise to a higher level that I can't really forgive. I ordered fish and chips. The fries were dark brown and dry like leather. It was clear they were leftovers that had been deep fried a second time. The fish, if not the same as the fries, was definitely overcooked. This left the fish dry, flavorless and unpleasant to even look at. The cole slaw did seem fresh though I found it to be very bland, flavorless. The Pepsi was good. Our waiter, Kendall, was amazing. When she came to check on us a few minutes after delivering our food, I was very candid with her. The way she handled it was top notch professional and classy. Thank you, Kendall, for listening! With all respect, they didn't charge us anything. I still dropped a Hamilton on her because it wasn't her fault, and she did the best to handle the situation. That said, to my first paragraph about how this rose to a higher level and it's unlikely that I will ever give Crockett's that second chance I typically allow others: That plate of food never should have left the kitchen. It was obvious to anyone that something was wrong. The cook never should have placed it on the shelf. The waitstaff should have noticed as well and rejected it but they may not be empowered to do that. However, the biggest problem and I'll allow that there is a very small chance I'm wrong on this (I'm not) but they took leftover fries, dropped them in the fryer again, and served them to me. NOT okay.
Love the comfy atmosphere, so easy to relax. I loved the beer flight the bartender chose for me. Everything looked so good, but I ordered my usual grilled cheese and home-made tomato soup..sooo delicious, not your ordinary grilled cheese. One of my go-to restaurants.
I had one of the best burgers I've ever had here! I tried the public house flagship burger. It was so good, we went back the next day to try more of the menu. I had the BLT the next day, which was also tasty. Their seafood chowder had HUGE chunks of actual seafood, which is rare! And their cocktails are next level. The Spa Day and the Pineapple/Jalepeno Margarita were awesome. My husband had an old fashioned, which he loves, and said it was the best one he's had. He tried the fried chicken sandwich and the sloppy Joe, both of which were excellent. If you're in town looking for a great spot, this is it!
Came here for the first time about 5 years ago. decided to go here for my bday. I like the vegetarian options and non alcoholic dranks they have available. portions are big! definitely take half home. I ordered the calamari which wasn't bad. the batter was light and wasn't greasy. I also ordered the portobello sandwich with sweet potato fries. the people in my party ordered the shrimp street tacos- the shrimp was too charred and salty- and they ordered the blt. the blt had a good flavor, but the bacon was hard so it made it hard to chew. I ordered a non alcoholic mule with coconut cream on top and that was really tasty. the second mule I ordered was topped with strawberries and it wasn't as good as the coconut cream mule. it just tasted like strawberry lemonade.
