We were promptly served our drinks, followed by our main courses being placed on the table before we began. I ordered a special dessert, which unfortunately arrived about 15 minutes after we had finished eating our main course. The waiter explained that the bar was busy when we inquired about the delay. We wanted to order cheese, but our waiter did not return to take our additional order. After finishing our drinks, we requested the bill. Throughout our meal, no one asked us how we found the food, and no one apologized for the slow service with our food or drinks. Our previous experiences at Flying Fish were much better. Unfortunately, the quality of our experience this time did not match the amount of money we had spent.
Had the seafood platter. Sashimi and crab were tasteless. Scallops covered in a mediocre dressing. Felt it was overpriced even if the food had been great
The food at this restaurant was delicious, but everything arrived very quickly. Our appetizers and main courses were brought out at the same time, which was not ideal. Despite requesting a break before our main course, it did not happen. This may be convenient for those in a rush, but we had booked an early reservation so we could dine at a more leisurely pace. The quality of the food was good and the service was friendly.
We tried the Indulgence menu priced at $130, which was really good. However, we were surprised that the main dish was a meat dish at a fish restaurant. The meat was cooked perfectly though. We were disappointed that there was no written menu provided for the Indulgence menu, as we like to know what we are eating. The service was good overall, but we had to ask for water refills every time and the descriptions of the dishes were lacking detail. For example, when we asked about the sauce on the kingfish, we were simply told it was "some chilli jam", which didn't do the dish justice. It would be helpful to have a written menu for the Indulgence menu so diners can know what to expect.
