I ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was a complete waste of money. I ordered the beef stir fry with vegetables and it was very bland with no flavor, overly oily, and had only a few pieces of beef. I had to throw it out. My husband ordered the pad Thai which also did not look fresh and was lacking in flavor. He also threw his dinner away. The spring rolls we ordered were also very disappointing. Overall, we will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
I recently dined at Thai Spice in Stanhope Gardens and was extremely disappointed. The restaurant used to be decent value for money, but it has definitely taken a turn for the worse. During my visit last Friday, the restaurant was nearly empty, and it's no surprise considering the poor quality of the food and service. The chicken dish I ordered was dry and flavorless, and I struggled to eat it without constantly sipping on water. One of my friends ordered a seafood dish that was practically inedible. None of my group enjoyed their meals. The waitress was a friendly Thai girl, but unfortunately, she had difficulty understanding English and taking orders. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Thai Spice in the future.
Overall they are expensive, ridiculously slow delivery, have way below average food and **** service. There is so much competition yet they are expensive compared to other Thai restaurants. It took 1.5hrs to deliver and the food was below average. I tried to ring and cancel but their phone was constantly engaged for the whole 1.5 hours. When I did get through to them to complain, they blamed me from ordering online through Menulog which incidentally, is their only form of online ordering what hypocrites! I’m new to the area but I would recommend people avoid this restaurant. It was my first and definite last time for using them.
I went to the restaurant in Stanhope Gardens and unfortunately it was not what I expected. I was here for a family birthday and found that although there was a group of us, approx 10, they were not willing to serve us. Waitresses seemed to avoid us at all costs despite how obvious it was. Food itself was quite ok, although I thought servings were smaller than other Thai restaurants I frequent. BYO was good, my partner brought some ginger beer and this worked out well as they didn't have his type of drink on offer. Food did take a little while to come out, which is expected when in a group of people so this was fine. I had pad Thai which was quite bland whilst the curry eaters seemed happy with their dishes. Restaurant was hot, almost like air con wasn't working. I used a voucher for myself and my partner so we only paid $30 for the two of us which worked well as I would not have liked to spend too much more as it was not terribly enjoyable.
