Adorned with an appealing colonial-style decor, the ambience adds a unique touch to the dining experience. In addition to Vietnamese dishes, the menu extends to encompass Chinese cuisine as well. However, the service leaves something to be desired; it's rather lackluster and tends to be time-consuming, especially when requesting the bill. Unfortunately, the culinary aspect doesn't quite measure up to the establishment's reputation. The quality of the food doesn't align well with the prices charged. Specifically, the spring rolls are marred by overly dried and thick skin, prompting the decision to abandon consuming it altogether. Similarly, the skewers are plagued by overcooking, rendering the meat disappointingly dry. Adding an unexpected twist to the scene, a wild cat was observed roaming within the restaurant during our visit. If your goal is to savor authentic Vietnamese flavors, it might be wise to explore other dining options that promise a more satisfying culinary experience. However, if your interest lies primarily in immersing yourself in the ambiance, this restaurant could still serve as a passable choice for inquisitive tourists.
Too focused on the food to take some good photos but food was decent. Ordered the banh canh myself and thought it was very good. Prices are a bit on the higher side due to the places popularity but I would say the decor and setting makes up for it. Come here if you want a fancier dinner/lunch in Saigon.
I've been there 2 times. The First time Everything was perfect! The second time, I was not satisfied For food and service, Perhaps because it was later and the service was tired and not very patient. Also while I was eating they started to clean the tables near mine, with detergents with a very strong smell, totally destroying my appetite. For now I give 3 stars. I want to go back a third time to decide the final result. I wish I could give 5 stars because the first time was amazing! Update June 2023. After another business dinner at Ngon, i can say for sure 4 stars! I cannot wait for the next time.
Very wide options with even vegetarian choice. I really like the decor but it’s a bit hot during lunch because there is aircon. But would recommend to any visitors who want to try different Vietnamese foods. You might want to visit at night when it’s cooler and make sure to have reservation because it tends to be pretty crowded, especially during peak hours.
This is a must try place if you’re in Saigon for the first time. You get all the traditional foods here. Good portion, good price. Suggest to come before 12noon to avoid crowd. Taste of the food is authentic and I would come back here again for sure. Portion is big so just be sure to order just enough so that you can get a taste of it all. They do serve Chinese cuisines too I.e dim sum and Chinese dishes. Go on and try it!
