Bistro Le Sam - Quebec City

Our entire dining experience was exceptional! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious—definitely try the meat and cheese board (highly recommended), as well as the poutine and braised beef. Without a doubt, it was the best meal we've had in Quebec City so far. The restaurant itself is beautiful too. I highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic table with a view of the river. The food was excellent! My steak was cooked exactly to my preference, and the crème brûlée was just perfect. The only downside was that my daiquiri had too much ice, which overshadowed the mango flavor, although it was presented beautifully. Overall, dining here was a wonderful experience.

I had a fantastic experience with a very creative bartender. However, the cocktails were quite pricey. The service was friendly, but the restaurant seemed understaffed. Unfortunately, the food quality didn't meet our expectations given how nice the restaurant is. I would advise against ordering the burger!

A lovely restaurant with a great view overlooking the Frontenac terrace and Basse Terre below. But the food was only OK. We started with two soups: their French Onion and the soup of the day. Odd to complain, but the onion soup was so heavy handed with cheese and bread that it was hard to dig down into the nice onions and broth below. For our main plates we had an uber-rich order of cavatelli with black garlic and cream sauce and tasty sauteed mushrooms and a puff pastry stuffed with a bland goat cheese and spinach stuffing atop a underdressed salad (oil but no discernable lemon or vinegar. Our shared tartlet (honeyberry with almond cream and raspberries was fine. Just somehow we had expected the food to match the surroundings and it didn't quite make it.

Great dinner. The seafood cassorole, French dip, spinach goat cheese puff, and creme brûlée were all 5 star. The lamb dish was a bit small for 50 CAD other than that we loved the atmosphere, service and food sand the view. They even got out a ramp so my 95 year old grandpa could sit on the terrace. Well done!
