If you have a big appetite and love sushi, this is the place. The portions are small, but this is designed so you don?t overindulge andhave to pay extra for waste. We went on a Friday afternoon, and the service was adequate, but could be improved. Making anddelivering the food was rather fast, and we didn?t have to wait long. I personally enjoyed the sushi pieces. My favorites werethe eel, tuna, and tobiko. I also loved eating the volcano roll. It was not too overwhelming and tasted refreshing. If you wantto get the most out of your dining experience, avoid getting rolls that have cream cheese/excess rice in there. Theseingredients are designed to get you full very quickly without eating too much. I found the Boston roll to be a bit much, but itwas still really good nonetheless. Their fried pieces were also delicious. I was particularly fond of their scallops. They werecrispy yet still juicy inside. It didn?t have a rubbery texture, which is hard to execute on scallop dishes. I ended the mealwith a miso soup to cleanse my palate, and it was delicious. I?d recommend coming here to feast on all the sushi they have tooffer. For $24.99, this offer is too good to pass up.
Upon entering this fine establishment you are welcomed by a strong aroma/Stench of fish. I agree, it?s a seafood restaurant so the smell of fish would be something of a norm, but no no, this is a very strong fishy smell. We came with a party of four on aSunday afternoon and to my surprise we got seated right away. This place has a nice atmosphere, white tile background with asushi bar as the center of attention. For a moment you would feel like you?re in Japan until you feel how humid and hot itreally is inside the restaurant. No seriously, I was cheering every time a waiter passed by me because they sent a gust of wind.Please be prepared to wait, and I mean really wait because they take quite some time to bring you the food. I would suggestordering most of what you want in the first go. The seats could be more comfortable as well, I mean honestly if I?m waiting thislong, it would be nice to be seated on something more comfy. The only thing they kept up with was the water, my glass stayedfull the whole time. The size of their portions is just funny, it?s half the size of a normal sushi roll. Overall the thing toremember is that if you don?t mind the stench of fish, sweating profusely and waiting on uncomfortable chairs for your food toarrive, this restaurant is really not that bad.
We visited Akino a couple of times before the pandemic and dealt with hour long waits for a table and full reservations etc but each time we were very happy with the food and service. But this visit was different almost everything was not the same exceptfor our helpful and down to earth host who was also the manager the went well above anyone else working there. So onto thedifferences or our present experience we walked in and noticed the restaurant was a bit warm but luckily barely waited15minutes for a table in the back a table before the turn to the restrooms. As we were taken to our table we immediately feltthe temperature rise and once seated we also started to smell the odor or either the restroom or more likely the floors frompossibly grease or an old musty mop they used? Our host was very nice and we placed our order with her. After sitting a fewmore minutes we could no longer bear the lack of cold aircond and the warm temps we asked the manager why the restaurant?saircond was not blowing cold air. She mentioned it?s been like that all summer and the owner can?t find the issue. So weasked if we could change our table to the outdoor seating area with standup fans. It was a 90 degree day and humid but betteroutside than inside! Then appetizers and food came most were served on the plastic tops of take out containers or smallpaper plates! This was not the case the last couple of times we visited and a bit of a let down in presentation/ambiance in allhonesty. The sushi and sashimi at least was served on large plates or a serving tray as normal. The food and sushi was stillgood as we remembered but a big catch most was getting warm before it was presented to us at our table. Understandably sobecause the restaurant?s aircond and temp was not cool either. Service was mediocre by half the staff and the other half was okonly exception was the manager. Please be AWARE of this place. I understand it is ?All you can eat? but the size of sushi they served were extremely small. You can compare them with a size of a quarter, same goes with special rolls. They don?t care about the quantity of food they?reserving. Took them forever to prepare the food, we got full while waiting, it wasn?t a busy day. The water was from a big oldwhite jar, who knows how long the water has been sitting there for. Also please hire a dish washer, I don?t understand whythey?re still using plastic paper plate for the sauce and appetizers. A take-out sushi container is what you?re getting for yourpersonal ?plate?. It feels like I?m having a large takeout order at home. No dining experience at all. Horrible! Tons ofplastics wasted for one meal. ??????ATTENTION?????? THEY USE MOLDED PLATE. Paid about $50 per person, the experience and thequality of food was totally NOT worth it. Spend your money else where. Miserable!
One of the best all-you-can-eat there is! If you?re craving Japanese cuisine this is the place for you. Great selection of food and everything is made-to-order so everything comes out fresh, tasty and delicious. You?ll definitely get your money?s worthhere. They have hot foods, sushi, rolls, salad and everything else. Highly recommend. Make sure you bring a good appetite. And Ithink they give a discount if you?re paying in cash.
