Hidalgo Mexican Food - Queens

This is a lovely Mexican restaurant that is family-owned. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

There are areas where improvement is needed, especially since I am acquainted with the owners. The service is friendly, but there seems to be an issue with the flavor of the food.

Consistently good, rich and full of taste. Always satisfied, always happy, and will continue to order from here. Only food in Astoria that can remind me of my mother's kitchen, and none of what I eat from here is in my culture. Thank you for the delicious food?

Small family store with big Mexican flavor! I had the Barbacoa tacos and they were perfectly loaded with Barbacoa meat and the salsa Verde was the perfect hot and spicy. I also bought some sweet bread and some Sabritones for my hotel room later. And a few Tamales Verdes!! I can't wait to taste those. Great food. Great service and friendly too. I highly recommend.

Technically edible. Chorizo was rubbery chopped up links, carnitas was cubes of pork without flavor, tacos tasted like nothing/paper. Didn't get sick but not ordering again.
