The restaurant itself seems quiet but don’t let that fool you. They seem to do a roaring trade in takeaway. We can see why. They know their flavours, and have a warm and welcoming way about them. Good vegetarian and vegan options too, if that’s what you’re after. It’s nice to support a little local business that’s more about the food than the ‘look’.
So happy we found this place! The Indian is great and the pho is the best I’ve had outside of Vietnam and Footscray. Having recently moved down the the coast from Footscray, pho has been a very regular meal for our 1 year old and 3 year old, glad we can continue the tradition down here.
I was sceptical with the combination of Indian Vietnamese but pleasantly surprised with our meal. We ordered tandoori chicken which was cooked in a tandoor oven on charcoal. Very delicious. The service was really good, friendly staff. The mum is lovely and chatty. The place was recommended by a local. It was the Easter long weekend and the place was empty which did not make sense to me. But when you sit inside, you can see why.An odd place which could be so much more with the right “stuff”. There’s a big karaoke machine in the restaurant which is odd. The grandpa with no English is on the front counter. He was wearing a cap and a jacket zipped all the way to the top. Not the sort of outfit for the hospitality industry. He might have been friendly but I found him uninviting. They did the display on the window themselves rather than professionally done. Just a few things that let this place down.
Delightful hosts and excellent food at a great price. Hand made rice paper rolls are fantastic!
During a long weekend in Queenscliff, my friends and I were searching for a place to have dinner. Unfortunately, we were turned away by every pub and restaurant because they didn't have enough space to accommodate a group of seven without a reservation. Luckily, we stumbled upon T&R, which was surprisingly empty. They quickly set up a table for us while we grabbed some BYO drinks from a nearby store. To our great joy, all of our meals were fantastic! I will definitely return the next time I'm in Queenscliff. Thank you for a fantastic evening filled with delicious food.
