I visited this place for the whiskey, and it was definitely worth it. The card-based tastings were very attractive and easy to navigate. While the whiskey selection is somewhat limited, the quality is outstanding. On the other hand, their wine selection is extensive, and they offer a great variety of food to complement your drinks. I highly recommend spending a few hours here enjoying a drink.
They have a great selection of wine, some scotch, and some whiskey. The samples are self serve, so you just need to stick your card into a machine and pour your drink. For a light weight like me, a system like this really nice so I can grab a few tasters without breaking the bank. Also a chill place to just hangout, talk, and play some board games. Seating is limited though.
This is a great spot for sampling wines and whiskey. I wanted to explore the local wines and ended up trying some ports, whiskey, and Pinot. It’s an affordable way to taste before you purchase and avoid any regrets. I ended up buying two bottles to bring back to the States!
A pleasant spot to hang out, taste wine and have some cheese. How it works: the great thing about places like this one is that for a reasonable price you can have just a taste of a large variety of wines across all price points. -go to front counter, give them a credit card and get a wine card -they will also give you a glass-TIP: don't take the crummy little tasting glass, if for example you want to taste Pinot, ask for a pinot noir glass (it truly makes a difference) -you may also want to order the very reasonably price cheese trays-the deluxe is NZ$38 and could feed 4. -the wines are set up all around the large store in sections: Chardonnay, Pinot noir, etc. -stick in you card and buy a taste, a half glass or a full glass-I mostly do tastes and half glasses -sit outside or in one of their comfy chairs-relax -swirl, sip, repeat -you can try as many wines as you pallet (and budget) allow. Many of the tastes are just a few dollars although they have at least one NZ$1,000 bottle-ataste of that gem was $35-but hey you'd probably never by a bottle so this is a chance to live a little! A great way to experiment with wine and spend time with friends and family.
