Didn’t look too appealing but as I said: no other options available. It wasn’t that bad, the bad part came afterwards when my wife got really sick. I’ll spare you the details but it wasn’t nice. No surprise that i don’t recommend the buffet.
The buffet on both Saturday and Sunday we're very nice. The staff is very friendly and there is a nice atmosphere with the locals. Good price quality!
We ate lunch there on a Sunday. Great buffet options (squid, cozido à Portuguesa, shrimp, fruit, green salad). Good food, friendly staff.
The pasta with shrimps was very nice. It had a lot of cream but it was delicious and a big portion. The price was also good.
After trying to gag down a couple of bites from their buffet, we actually left at the risk of going hungry for the night as it was after 9:00. They refused us menus (just under one hour before closing) which is fine if the buffet is edible. If I was the owner/cook/serving staff I would have been beyond embarrassed to suggest that people actually consume what was there. The food that needs to be kept hot was cool (mushy seafood, tough pork) and the food that should be cool was warm (mayonnaise drenched potato and egg salad). I have eaten in some pretty grim places in many countries over the years but this is the first time I have ever walked out of a restaurant, and nobody even questioned why we were leaving. I compelled my husband to pay (stupid me) and we drove 10 minutes down the road and had a fresh, gourmet meal for the SAME PRICE! A previous reviewer commented that it looked as though they had reheated the leftovers from the previous day. I would have to agree. These people are taking gross advantage of tourists and hopefully they will get their comeuppance and close their doors.
