Hotel Restaurant Canal - Quillan

We live 10 12 minutes from the restaurant (since 2013) and rely on delicious typical French cuisine. In the evening or midday breaks, everything is always on site and the prices are very reasonable. the hardworking owners always offer a warm welcome and they perform a great service.

Excellent home cooking, a treat for taste buds. Correct service, very personal. I advise you.

We have a holiday home in Quillan and so we visit the town quite regularly. We eat out quite a lot but we haven't visited this restaurant a lot over the last few years mainly because it is quite difficult to know when it is...going to be open. However I will make a point to visit more regularly in the future. I went for dinner by myself when I saw it was open on a Thursday evening. I have to say that the food is fabulous, the service is impeccable and the price is too low. I had the 22€ 4 course menu which gave me a choice of several starters, mains and desserts together with the cheese course. I chose the tart of the day to start which was goats cheese balsamic served with a beautiful salad. For main course I had the lamb tagine with cous cous which was divine and I ate every single bit of it and mopped it up with my bread...... I then had cheese which was a piece of Comte and Roquefort delicious. I then finished with an Isle Flottant dessert again excellent. I had to do several rounds of the town to walk it off! They serve the local wine by the glass at 3€. I'm sure they probably have a wider selection. I think that the house speciality is cassoulet which I have never really enjoyed but several people were eating it and it smelled divine. You can also get cassoulet to take away. I might try it next time. This is a traditional French restaurant serving wonderful traditional food and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and I will be back. I would give it 6 stars for value if I could. Vive la France!

Had the pleasure of eating here last night with my family. We had our 11mnth old granddaughter with us and the staff couldn’t have been more obliging. The food was excellent value for money and the ambience was lovely. First time we’ve eaten here but...we’ll definitely be back for another visit.
