Make no mistakes while this is called Douglas Avenue Diner this is no greasy spoon. Generally when I come here it hostess seating wich normally dosen't take to long. It's decor is that of a classic diner. With decorations (example gas station signs, ads, pictures of Hollywood stars and singers. The menus selection is surprising with, for example items like a triple decor sandwich one that is very much like a BLT but with the addition of chicken and avocado. Often you don't even order off the menu becuse of new one day specials they come up with like Aztec Omelette. Often there are three breakfast and three lunch specials on a white board.
Breakfast. Eggs and hashbrowns were okay, bacon was near raw, and toast was burned and cold. I was charged 3.50 for a cup of coffee. Total bill for breakfast for one person was 13.66, plus 2.00 tip. This used to be a good restaurant; I won't be going back.
Went here for lunch for the 1st time yesterday and wondered what took me so long! Great and hot food, best gyro and chicken dumpling soup ever, fast, friendly and efficient service, extremely reasonably priced !!! and fun atmosphere. Kudos DAD! I'll definitely be back!!!!!
I have always enjoyed their food. It's a nice 50's setting with oldies music. Love their patty melts!
