Contribuisci feedbackNamed after a reference from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (and local roaster Larry Larson), it's no surprise that this delightful coffee shop has become our favorite spot to unwind and recharge after GalaxyCon each year. The shop features a sleek, modern atmosphere and a friendly staff, but the standout attraction can be summed up in two words: coffee flights. With options like nitro cold brews and draft lattes, it's an excellent way to sample a variety of flavors while still getting your caffeine fix. My wife usually orders these, while I tend to go for one of the seasonal drinks. On our most recent visit, I tried the orange creamsicle, which I wouldn't order again, but I appreciate their creativity in experimenting with different syrups and flavors. There are many coffee shops in Downtown Raleigh, but if you can tolerate the limited seating, 42 and Lawrence provides all the strong coffee, inventive flavors, and charm you could want.
My son and I popped in for some coffee, tea, and a ham pastry. The drinks were the best I've had in years, which isn't surprising since the staff employs hand-crafted brewing techniques that you don't find everywhere else. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The pastry case was filled with tempting treats that looked truly spectacular. I jokingly thought about diving into the case, but I was worried I might never come back out! I suppose I'll have to make more visits and enjoy the pastries in moderation.
Today was my first visit to 42 Lawrence, and I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee was decent, scoring a 6/10—I wasn’t blown away, but it was good. The prices were reasonable, but what truly made it a five-star experience was that my little dog was welcome to join me! One of the staff even offered her a pup cup, which she happily accepted. I’ll definitely be returning often, as I travel with my dog everywhere, and now we have a coffee shop we can both enjoy!
Decided to work from the coffee shop one day and this spot was recommended. It is pretty small but cute. Not as warm as I would expect for a coffee shop but it was downtown Raleigh. My Latte was cold when they gave it to me which is weird. When I toldthem, they were very hesitant to redo it. Informed me they did not have a microwave. I said good thing I don 't want you toreheat my drink . They then made it over.
My wife and I enjoyed some coffee at this café during our visit to Raleigh. It's a wonderful spot with friendly staff. The only downside was that it was a bit on the expensive side. My wife ordered the Hazelnut Latte, while I chose the Chai Tea Latte, and both were absolutely delicious!
