While I love Counterculture coffee, every coffee shop in Raleigh, it seems, brews it. Crema used to have Dillanos. Now they have a different local roaster. The coffee is great. The ice creams are also fantastic made with fresh ingredients.
Their mix-your-own ice cream is amazing. I love that there are new flavor combinations to try all the time! Nice, quiet atmosphere inside. They also have a surprising amount of interesting wines to buy.
Nice atmosphere, a little 'dark ' mid-day as they rely on natural lighting from Fayetteville Street. Temperature, also, was a little warm for my taste. Customer service was great and the drink I ordered was of good quality. As I am very particular regarding my coffee-based products, this comes as high praise.
We were looking for ice cream and boy did we find it. Nice small and larger portions. Just right and nothing over the top. You pick vanilla or chocolate and add up to three of their many toppings. Oreo for me. Fresh made smoothies are yummy. We wanted to try the coffee but we were too hot. There are four tables and maybe 10 bar stools. Personal care and great place to stop by. Oh, there is a city bench and a large granite planter outside in case you want to sit in the landscape.
Come for the tasty coffee or the ice cream. The guys here always remember my coffee order and it's the same every time. The place doesn't quite have a comfortable enough feel that makes me want to linger around but for grab and go coffee, Crema is a great stop.
