Golden Corral Buffet Grill - Raleigh

Overall, my experience was good. The food is mostly mass-produced and frozen, so it does have a bit of a salty taste. Some dishes, like the mac and cheese, were a bit bland and could use improvement. However, the meat was quite good, and the salad was excellent. In my opinion, the fried chicken was the standout dish, followed by the fried pork, ham, and turkey leg. The Bourbon chicken, on the other hand, left something to be desired. All in all, I would return, as it’s one of the better options in the area.

The salad was quite fresh and offered a good variety. The service staff were courteous, but I had a bit of a problem with one particular waiter. He seemed to have difficulty understanding my order and took a long time to prepare my steak, which ended up being incorrect. At one point, he was playing with the tongs in the back and accidentally dropped them on the floor he was cleaning. It's certainly not what you want to witness when someone is handling your food.

Much nicer than the Golden Corrals of old. My agency was hosting my retirement party here, and I was a bit skeptical since I have not set foot in one since the one in our town was shut down by the health dept. about 15 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised with the bright lighting, cleanliness, meeting room facility, and staff attentiveness. The buffet was really good for the price with lots of choices. Business was booming for lunch on a Tuesday. My only suggestion is to have more staff at the registers at 11 AM. The experience was a 1 out of a 10The food was mediocre it was bland has no taste to it. The restrooms could have been a lot cleaner. The waitress I had did not keep the drinks refilled and she gave my child dirty looks. It was one Hispanic female employee that kept coughing everywhere she went including the drinks area, plates area, getting food from the buffet, picking up trays. I will not eat here again. ?

I am sitting in the restaurant, writing this review. That’s how much this experience has motivated me. I have been looking forward to coming here for a year. I haven’t been here in years. How the mighty have fallen. This is not the Golden Corral I remember. Let’s start with the yeast rolls, disgusting ? I could taste raw yeast. My 3 kids left them on their plate. I took one bite and also set it aside. My chicken was hot and overcooked, I wasn’t sure that the chicken was bland or that it was cooked to the point that the seasoning was just gone. While the shrimp had a nice texture, it was also bland. The baked fish is nothing to write home about. My husband‘s sausage dog was also a disappointment. My husband’s Spanish rice was also bland. My daughter did enjoy the spaghetti. My kids did enjoy the ice cream, which was the only saving grace. We came to be seated and the tables next to our table was stacked with dirty plates from several other guests and trash on the floor. A young man came to our table with our drinks. I spoke to him and he ignored me the first 2 times. I had to raise my voice the 3rd time to get him to respond about giving us straws. However the staff member Liz was very friendly and sweet. Normally I take a lot more pictures, but it wasn’t worth my time. Everyone has a off day, but the behavior of the majority of the staff gives off the “I wish I had a different job” vibe. ???I’m so disappointed ?
