Hayashi Japanese - Raleigh

I've been coming here for 13 years and have never had a bad experience. The calamari salad with the house-made dressing and the Punk Rock Roll (which isn’t on the menu) are outstanding. This is my favorite sushi restaurant anywhere. The staff and owners are friendly and amusing.

The sushi at this restaurant is outstanding. Be sure to try the Dragon Roll—it’s a safe choice! The sushi chefs are meticulous and exceptionally creative, presenting dishes beautifully. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the service is quick and extremely friendly. While the dining area is not large, it is definitely worth waiting for a table.

My son wasn't fond of the food (which I didn’t try) that young kids typically enjoy. We ordered Hibachi chicken, but he refused to touch it. The OWNER (I didn’t catch their name) noticed my son's antics and engaged with him. My son requested French fries, and when the owner returned, they brought a plate full of fried chicken strips, which they called “French pommes,” leaving my son quite surprised. However, he ended up loving the "French fries" dipped in yam sauce. Overall, the food was delicious (the Aloha roll was especially fantastic), but the exceptional service from both the staff and the owner deserves more than five stars from me! I will definitely be returning.

Was here twice and every time I left, I was never disappointed! This place is a great jewel for sushi! From fresh sushi to great service, this place exceeded my expectations. I will definitely come here a lot more!

My new favorite sushi spot in the area The service was fantastic! The design/decorations were great which took us by surprise because it's located in a shopping center. The sushi was fresh, delicious, and they have a great collection of rolls! We had their house salad and a variety of special rolls all wonderful! Can't wait to go back and try more!
