I don't believe any marsala was actually used in the veal marsala. It’s supposed to be served with mashed potatoes and vegetables, but I ordered it with pasta and there were no veggies included. Additionally, a second plate of bread costs two dollars. The service felt overwhelmed and was quite slow. I probably won't be returning.
For our 12-year-old son, who is lactose intolerant, we ordered a simple penne pasta with shrimp in a lemon garlic white wine sauce—no parmesan. It was incredibly bland; he didn’t even eat the shrimp. My wife ordered a chicken dish, which also had very little flavor. The only standout item was the mozzarella, tomato, and prosciutto appetizer, which was fresh and tasty. As we walked in, the host/bartender asked if we wanted a wine list, but we declined since I was scheduled for surgery the next day. The waitress then repeated the question, and we gave her the same answer. It felt a bit pressuring, and I got the sense that our refusal was not well-received. Once our meals arrived, our waitress seemed to ignore my attempts to get her attention, even when I asked for the check. She didn’t even clear our plates. Eventually, she paid some attention to us while attending to other tables and inquired whether our son’s pasta was satisfactory. I responded negatively, and she asked if we needed a box to take the uneaten food home. We don’t usually take leftovers, especially if they’re not good. As she picked up his plate, she asked again about the shrimp, and I replied in frustration, “No, it's not good!” At that point, we felt a sense of discrimination based on our age compared to the other diners. I should point out that we are Italian-Americans and know what good Italian food is supposed to be like. After experiencing such terrible service and feeling ignored, we received the bill and discovered a 4% surcharge for not paying in cash. I’ve never seen this before, and we frequently dine out. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
I usually go to a restaurant a few times before putting forth a review. This was my third time at Nina?s and all three times the food has been exquisite and the service outstanding. Our server/waiter has been Anthony and he is as I previously statedoutstanding. The great thing here they work as a team everyone on the staff is always checking things and making sure thepatrons needs are being met. They have a very good wine list. So if you haven?t been to Nina?s I would advise you to go for somegreat food and top notch service.
I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! The bartender was friendly and offered great suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious. However, I had to deduct one star because I was informed at the time of payment that there is now a 4% fee added to the bill for credit card transactions. This was the first time I encountered such a charge at a restaurant.
