OMG, I have been wanting Mofongo so badly and haven't found a place that does it the way I want. This place hit the mark and got 10 out of 10. We had the Beef hand rolled empanadas and special sauce that comes with it, and the chefs special mofongo. The mofongo comes with chorizo sausage balls and large shrimp cooked in a white wine, butter garlic and cheese sauce. AMAZING.... First time trying Puerto Rican food for the hubby and he couldn't stop raving about it. Next time I'm getting the Ropas Viejo old clothes) and maybe the Trifongo because it has the three different meats inside it. BTW next time will be tomorrow. The staff was super helpful explaining all the Spanish names for those I didn't understand, I only speak a little bit of spanish), and we're excellent in helping find the perfect dish. The food was scalding hot and fresh and made perfectly. The bar is cool and decorated very Latin infused. They have traditional Cuban, Columbian, and Puerto Rican dishes mainly, and wow they do those with amazing style and flavor. I will be back many more times.
This restaurant was truly a hidden gem. The food was scrumptious, although my entrée wasn't as hot as I had anticipated. I suspect it was because my guest ordered a substantial amount of food, and my dish was prepared first. Nevertheless, the flavors brought back memories of my home in New York. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it met all my expectations. Unfortunately, they were out of avocado, so they substituted it with guacamole, which tasted store-bought rather than homemade. I don't want to hold that against the place, especially since we arrived at 9 PM, just half an hour before closing. With only a couple of other tables occupied, it’s likely they were already winding down. I would definitely give this restaurant another chance during peak hours, when I expect the food to be served quickly and hot! I still recommend it if you're in the mood for some delicious, albeit slightly pricey, authentic Latin cuisine.
The food here was absolutely delicious, served hot and fresh. If you enjoy gourmet Latin cuisine, this is a must-try spot. I even noticed a customer ordering a hamburger that looked like the tallest burger I’ve ever seen, so there are options available for those in your group who may not prefer Latin food. They also have a kids' menu. The atmosphere is pleasant and contemporary.
Exceptional flavors in North Carolina! This restaurant would shine even in Miami, but it truly stands out in Raleigh. The sampler appetizer is fantastic, as is the palomilla. Don’t miss out on this place; if you appreciate a great Cuban meal, you’ll absolutely love it here.
