Shane's Rib Shack - Raleigh

I just had an incredible meal at Shane's. We could only finish half of it because the portions were so large! We ordered two full racks of ribs (each with two sides), and everything was delicious. Plus, we've earned extra points for our rewards account. I give it a 10/10!

I found myself seeking refuge from a storm and I'm so glad I did. The food here was honestly some of the best I've had in a long time, outside of my own kitchen. Johnnie was incredibly helpful while I was placing my order. I went with the lemon pepper wing combo, paired with roasted okra, and a half chicken plate with baked beans and potato salad. I also ordered BBQ wings with fries and a Sprite for a person experiencing homelessness outside. My friend and I couldn’t get enough of the delicious food we had. Johnnie mentioned that I would want to come back, and he couldn't have been more right. We can’t wait to try the ribs, possibly tomorrow!

Everything is cooked in the same sauce. The baked beans taste as they are skillful, and not even as good as Bush's, This is a rib place, explain to me why they can not throw a little meat into these beans for some taste? My friend and I couldn't find out why it had so many people in the restaurant in the world. We actually talked to people at three surrounding tables, they said they had never been there, but they would never have been there again! I guess I was just glad to hear that we were validated in our opinions. I'm sorry for those who think this place is good. Because you obviously never had the opportunity to have a good BBQ and that's a shame.

Eating is pretty good, but noticed quality is not the same as years ago. My favourite was the chicken salad, which offers this light pepper taste. But today it was just blazing. But there are some good options on the menu and the pages (Kartato Salat and Cole Slav) are delish! Peach cobbler is also another family favorite.

Shane's BBQ is a solid choice for a fast food-style barbecue. Personally, I prefer it over Dickey's because they offer a more interesting variety on their menu and their prices are quite reasonable. However, my main issue with Shane's is the inconsistency in their food. Sometimes the steak fries are served, while other times you get crinkle-cut fries. The wing sauce can vary too; one visit it might be spicy, and the next it could be mild. The amount of sauce also fluctuates dramatically—sometimes there's an overwhelming amount, and other times it's barely there. On the plus side, the staff are friendly and helpful. I appreciate that they provide sauces for you without making you ask repeatedly, although you'll have to plead for ranch, which they often forget. Overall, it's a decent spot with a few quirks.
