Shuckers Raleigh Priority Seating

The dinner was just average overall, and I wouldn't recommend the steak. However, the scallops and the ripening were excellent.

How can a wait of 45 minutes be considered priority seating? Still looked to be first in first seated! I would not recommend using this type of reservation here. It has no meaning and does not get you anything. It should NOT be an option on OpenTable since there is no table available for you. Feel free to check it out to see if they have changed their procedures.

Our dinner was OK but nothing special. We had the New Orleans baked oysters and their restaurant week special of bacon wrapped scallops and an order of crab cake. The scallops were good but the oysters were fair. The crab cakes had several good pieces of crab but really had way too much breading. Service was very slow and we had to ask for our waitress several times and she apologized each time.

We arrived and were seated early. Our appetizers were quick to arrive the salad course quickly followed. Both were excellent. Then our waitress disappeared we finally flagged another server to find out why we were still waiting for the main course for almost an hour. Arrived cold. Taken back to the kitchen warmed in an oven not freshly cooked. Didn't comp anything not even a glass of wine. Were given vouchers why would we go back?

We headed downtown to check out the new Shuckers this weekend and didn't really have high expectations, but boy did they exceed them. It was Restaurant Week and the menu was spot on and a fantastic deal. I started with bacon wrapped scallops served with a pineapple salsa, they were delish. Cooked perfectly. Next was the salad course and the vidalia onion dressing was delicious. I had the crusted tuna and crab cake entree which was cooked perfectly so good. Tuna was seared just as I had requested. And finally, a slice of key lime pie for dessert. What a refreshing way to end a seafood dinner. Enjoyed it so much!
