Best place in the triangle to eat, chill, and enjoy a great glass of wine.

I came to Solas one random sunny afternoon in May with a friend. We wanted to enjoy the weathers so we decided to try Solas for a drink on the patio. The waiter (tall, thin blond guy very nice) brought us restaurant menus to peruse and after a couple Solas Sangria 's (I think that 's what they were called), we decided to eat. We got two small dishes and a side to share... Zucchini Steak Salad and Tuna Tartar with a side of Low Country Hash (we weren 't sure what to expect but we were told it was really good by the waiter). Everything was deeeeeeelish! We 're planning on coming in again after our next girl’s day out !

I went with some friends last Monday. I guess they just open the roof for spring. There was a dj up there and the place was jumping. We asked about food and the girl told us they had a $3 tasting menu. We tried it. Every plate it was awesome. Beautiful rooftop amazing food, dirt cheap!!

When you start with simply vodka tonic and have to send it back? There 's your sign! A spoon should not be able to stick straight up in a bowl of risotto, the food was so salty that my tongue swelled, the stuffed chicken tasted and smelled like Ball Park hot dogs... Then the manager told us in private yeah, the food sucks here. I won 't eat the stuff The tempura lobster tasted like Long John Silvers, nothing resembling tempura, and was drenched in the most horrible sauce (also full of salt . The entire meal was comped but the point is my wife and I got dressed for a meal where every bit of it had to be sent back and left hungry. The stuffed chicken was so bad that when I asked my wife to taste it (she 's a chef she spit it out! Value? Even at free it cost too much!
