Ramen 101 - Rancho Cordova

Okay, stop it. An Fing amaze balls Ramen place and it is on our little town of Rancho! Thank you for fresh fast healthy take out. Loved the pork and this time tried chicken ramen. Lumpia much better than any others in the area, they have made lumpia taste amazing and feel healthful, truly a treat and AFFORDABLE. You feel good you ate here. So thrilled for this new home cooking treat. Great munchies alternative.

I ordered from Ramen 101 because my usual ramen place was closed, the soup base was not as flavorful as I expected and the chicken in the Ramen was overcooked and dry despite sitting in broth. Overall the meal was mediocre and left me wishing I had ordered something else.

The broth and egg were delicious but everything else seemed very bland. The noodles were a missed opportunity as they tasted flavorless, even after soaking in the broth. The tofu was also unfortunately missing anything that could have propelled it from being plainly scraped out of a container and into the corner of my bowl. I was really surprised to see a to-go order treated in such a way as this would be your only interaction with a customer.

I was pleasantly surprised with my order! Got the Black Garlic Ramen (F) medium and extra spicy. I will say extra spicy has a more basil taste which isnt bad, but I prefer not. It is a lot more oily. I ended up scooping the oil out. Next time I will only get medium and add my own chili oil. Otherwise, the portions are really big! The flavor is there and the toppings are really good. Glad to have a good ramen place near by.

My daughter enjoyed the Ramen. She was disappointed that the delivery size is not as "filling" as the in-house dining serving. The Chicken Rice was disappointing. Only a leaf of cabbage with (3) broccoli flowerettes. I ordered extra chaitsu pork, over -marinated over cooked dry pork shreds is what i got. The potstickers were full of glass noodles and little actual meat. Glass noodles in pot stickers ??? With the price paid, not an enjoyable experience. Will still take daughter to restaurant for ramen only.
