They're closing this location in a week and they act like they don't care about current customers. Understaffed and overworked, the waiters/waitresses are doing the best they can. Food quality is less than it was. The brisket sandwich was so fatty, it was barely edible. Yam was so cold it wouldn't melt the butter. Looking forward to seeing what might come next to replace them. Maybe someplace with good food. I definitely don't plan on visiting Babes at the their new location down valley.
My husband and I went with my Grandson and his fiancé. It was a great time especially because the ribs are the best!!! The waiter was exceptional, keeping us laughing and enjoying the food!!!
With twelve years' experience dining at Babe's, this place never fails to impress. The venue, decor and atmosphere is extradordinary. As another reviewer posted, there no place that does baby back ribs like Babe's. A little hidden gem on the menu is the wedge salad, which is the best of its kind. If the wedge were the only item ion the menu, I'd still be a regular customer. Babe's iconic reputation is well deserved.
Update!!! We finally got seated after over an hour wait. And we literally sat at the table waiting for our server for over 10 mins. We asked another waiter for help and he ghosted us walking by 4 times. Zero eye contact. Stay away and head over to Yard House or PF Chang's, they want your business. Why are businesses still open if they don't have the staff to serve customers. I understand the challenges of find staff, but it's their brand and reputation. Why continue to struggle if it's only going to hurt your brand.....also, being polite goes a long way. Ghosting customers and ignoring them for 10-15 mins while they wait to put in their name is unacceptable. I refused to lower my standards, especially since I'm the one paying for longer wait times, moody staff, higher prices and overall decline is hospitality. Come on Babe's, you used to be the Jewel of the Palm Desert. Step up your game or get out!
